DCAU Duality - Jack Napier/The Joker by OptimumBuster DCAU Duality - Jack Napier/The Joker by OptimumBuster
This was a planned piece that I never got to. I really love the Joker, and this version was my Joker when I was a kid. Mark Hamill took everything Jack Nicholson had done and improved upon it. Arguably the most iconic version of the character, and the actor who played him the longest and in the most forms of media.

On the Napier side, I found the screen caps from Mask of the Phantasm, and once I saw it, I got the initial sketch then pulled up a Jack Nicholson pic, and did a bit of tweaking. I wanted to bring that insanity, and just the beautiful smile that he brandished so many times on screen. This is probably my personal favorite Duality for the DCAU series.

lol. Still my favorite episode. The score where Batman is chasing the Joker where it is essentially the full 89 Batman theme still gives me goosebumps.

I just don't like what bruce and dick's relationship turned into

Yeah, well it was inevitable. The older he got, the less he wanted to do things by Bruce's standards. Though in the comics they remained amicable and eventually reconciled, but in the show yeah, Dick kind of just parted ways and never really was seen much after that which sucked.

Honestly haven't seen the whole movie, nor read the whole comic. I just got Death in the family TPB so I can read that story. I need to find a cheap copy of the Killing Joke TPB reprint. I think it's still relatively expensive even for a newer print.

Yeah they're just not as quotable/memorable. I love what they've done so far, and I saw Batman V. Superman opening day. Despite the flaws it's one of my favorite comic book films. But the only quotable lines I can remember are the Martha Scene for ALL the WRONG reasons, the it's not an S line from MOS, and the Harley line, "just kidding they're not telling me that," which I laughed really hard at.

This really shows the contrast between DCAU jokers original jack Napier hitman facade, and the chemically disfigured jester of chaos that we all know.

Great job

Not named in the film, but he was referred to as such in one of the episodes. Since the series is essentially an off shoot of The 89 Batman, I've always accepted the Jack Napier identity especially after seeing Mask of the Phantasm.

well, apparantly not many even know Joker's pre-Joker name. heck, not even those who would hit you if you just got the eye color wrong

Well as far as colors go, I always sample colors from screen caps. So they're show accurate. But yeah, some take their comic booking very seriously. I love comics but I know others who love them a LOT more.

yeah. I'm open-minded to a lot of things. like some hated on Ultimate Spider-Man, I loved how they changed things. how exciting would it be if you expected everything to be the same as always?

Exactly. Change isn't always bad. If not for the Ultimates books we would have never gotten Miles Morales or Sam Jackson's Nick Fury.
